"I am what I was not " Happy New Year!

Before I opened my eyes this last day of 2021 the thought that immediately came to mind was"I am, what I was not". I thought to myself.. oomph. I grabbed my phone and wrote it down before I forgot it. It definitely made me think as I contemplated beginning a new year. I had less than 24 hours to complete anything that was on my to do list for 2021. I couldn't help but think that the phrase must be something I should take with me as we enter 2022. Am I something now as 2021 closes that I was not at the beginning of 2021? I can say with all assurance, yes it's true. I am a vastly different person now than I was December 31st 2020. I think that probably many of us can say we are. Is the change something that was intentional or did we just look up and things were different?

The challenge for me and you is to not be found at the end of a year remaining the same as we were a year ago. Things around us are constantly changing and some things remain the same. I think it probably takes a lot of work to stay the same in the midst of this constantly changing world. January 1st signifies the beginning of a new year. For many of us we see this as an opportunity for a new start. We get a chance to begin again. I realize with every passing year we may not get another do over so we need to make the year, the moment that we are in count. It's a new year with new opportunities to live out our dreams with the help of God. It's a chance to fulfill the promises we've made to God, ourselves and others. My prayer for this new year is that I truly will be able to say "yes, I am living the kind of life that I was not living last year". I know that I will be able to live a better life where I am constantly growing and becoming more of the person that God always intended me to be if I remember I am not meant to live this life alone. I got a friend who is always with me who wouldn't miss a thing. Yes I'm talking about Jesus. I invite you to check out my blog as I share my thoughts and challenges for this upcoming year. Maybe some of them are the same for you. God has great challenges and plans for all of us. Happy New Year.
